Tanning salons after lockdown - what to expect on your first trip back
If you love a golden tan as much as we do at Fresh Indulgence, you'll certainly be pleased to know that tanning salons are back open! If you've missed your little luxuries, then booking a trip to the salon is probably high on your list of post lockdown adventures!
Get ready to get golden
As of July 13th, tanning shops across the UK will be allowed to open their doors once again. But things are probably going to feel a little different after the coronavirus pandemic! Your tanning salon may be able to take fewer clients due to social distancing measures so it's definitely worth booking an appointment in advance. There may be a high demand for a professional tan after lockdown, so make sure you give them a call and don't just drop in. There may be fewer appointments available as deep cleaning measures will need more time. But providing you've got an appointment booked, here's what to expect and how to keep yourself safe (and golden!)
Masks are a must
Your tanning salon will be following strict government guidelines, but there's no reason to let that stop you enjoying a bit of pampering therapy! Masks will be a must in the new post-COVID19 world so make sure to be prepared to wear a mask. You should also expect all of the beauty staff to be wearing a mask, it's the law. Make sure your mask is the correct grade if you're a beauty professional too.
Socially distanced salons
The salon itself will look different too with carefully measured distances between clients. Make sure you adhere to the guidelines and stand or wait where you are supposed to. Use hand sanitiser whenever it's provided and try and relax and adjust to the new environment. If you're a salon owner, check out our protective equipment here as it's essential that all beauty professionals protect themselves and their clients. Expect to see screens and barriers in the salon to keep clients apart too. The government has also advised that gloves be worn to avoid any skin to skin contact.
Though it may seem like stepping into a different world, it's so important we keep supporting our fabulous beauty industry and awesome independent businesses. You'll feel fabulous afterward too!
