Your best kept secret
How to make your spray tan last longer
While nobody's tan will last forever, there are some great ways that you can make your tan last longer. Here are some of our best ideas to make your tan last!
Exfoliate first
The night before you fake tan, make sure that you have a shower and exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating gets rid of dead cells on your skin, making way for new skin that will react well to the fake tanning solution, and help give you a much deeper tan that will look better and last longer. Don't exfoliate just before you fake tan - this could aggravate your skin.
Keep your body well moisturised
Moisturising is important for keeping a tan (real or fake), but we aren't just talking about afterwards - make sure that you are continuously moisturising before and after you get your tan. This will help the self-tan colour lock in properly, and will subsequently make it last longer.
Don't wear any oils while tanning
Oils can react to the self-tan, so make sure that you don't wear any while you are tanning. Oils can be anything from perfume, to deodorant, to moisturiser that you've just applied (it's important to moisturise before, but don't apply any the morning of your tanning session).
Don't use soap right away
After you've let the spray tan settle, you should always have a shower, but just use water - not soap. If you use soap within the first 24-hours, you will stop the development of the spray tan, impacting the results.
Choose high-quality tan
The tan you use makes all the difference regarding how long it will last. Choose a tan that is high quality, paraben-free and that has moisturising qualities. Our tan at Fresh Indulgence ticks all the boxes and is made to last longer!
These are some of the best ways to ensure that you can get the most for your money while self-tanning. If you take these steps, you'll get a deeper tan that lasts much longer.
